Upgrade Windows 98 to Windows 2000

This can be a very smooth process if you prepare the system before installing the upgrade. I recommend using SpyBot to clean up the adware and any good (and updated) antivirus for the rest. For good luck, I dumped the temp files and uninstalled any questionable screensavers as well.

The overall process took between one and two hours start to finish. One PC took one full hour just to load the Win2K upgrade software! All in all I was impressed with the ease and success of the upgrade, but would discourage most customers because of the cost of actual tech time to perform the upgrade plus the cost of the software/license on each PC.

13 PCs upgraded with only one that failed. I believe this one was related to either adware or virus.
