Spoolsv.exe crashing on Windows XP Professional

Customer tried deleting a few old printers. System locked up and wouldn't show any printers. At the login screen, spoolsv.exe crashes. After logging in, system acts strange and Printers folder won't display anything. Tried running SFC /Scannow, but system didn't recognize Dell's XP CD.

Made backup of drive at this point.

Boot to Safe Mode; insert Windows XP CD; perform in place Ugrade. Reboot a few times and system seems fine. Run system file checker with no problems.
