LinkSys Firmware Strikes Again !

LinkSys BEFSX41 with firmware 1.45.6 Oct 20, 2003 was causing trouble submitting a form on Tranzact website. Pages displayed properly and files downloaded just fine, but posting information failed every time. After upgrading firmware to 1.52.10 5/10/06 all is well!

WordPerfect for DOS printing issues

This item remains unsolved, but here's the details:

Word Perfect 6.x for DOS is configured on a pier to pier network with Windows XP. Dell PCs and laser printers complete the mix. I used wpdosanyprintermethod to facilitate printing from WordPerfect to the USB color laser printer. This configuration worked properly, but we soon discovered an annoying hesitation while printing multiple pages. The sequence results in a pause between every two pages that print.

PrintFile is another older looking program that might be handy, but I haven't had a chance to try it out.

Handy time zone information

This online wizard provided by Microsoft makes it easy to check and update your system.
Daylight Saving Time Help and Support Center (Javascript is required)

The following article at Microsoft is the best and most detailed information regarding Daylight Savings Time for 2007 and the Windows registry components that I've seen so far.

How to configure daylight saving time for the United States in 2007 (Article ID : 914387)

A non-Microsoft approach would be to use the following tool to update your system:

Flashing left hand cursor after SATA drive copy

If you run into trouble after copying a SATA hard drive, repair the Master Boot Record of the destination drive using either "Fdisk /mbr" from a Windows 98 diskette or by using "fixmbr" and "fixboot" from Recovery Console.

I had this trouble after using Ghost 8.0 and MaxBlast 4.0 to copy a 40GB SATA drive over a 250GB one in an IBM Lenovo ThinkCentre m/t: 8143-3EU

( 250GB SATA Maxtor upgrade )
